Things to Do in Northern Grenada in March — Beaches, Hot Springs, Rum, and More
If you’re planning a trip to northern Grenada in March, you’ve chosen one of the best times of year to visit. March is truly the sweet spot — calm weather, gentle seas, and just enough breeze to keep you cool without kicking up too much surf. It’s dry season here, meaning fewer clouds, vibrant views, and perfect conditions for exploring everything this beautiful part of the island has to offer.
By March, the Sargassum seaweed that sometimes appears on the eastern Caribbean shores has usually cleared away. The rainy season is long gone, and the high Christmas winds have settled — making March one of the most comfortable and reliable months to enjoy Grenada’s north coast.
Here are our favourite things to see and do in northern Grenada in March.

Relax at Bathway Beach
Bathway Beach is a local favourite and a must-visit when you’re staying in the north of the island. Protected by a coral reef, its calm, shallow waters are perfect for swimming even when the Atlantic beyond is lively. Pack a towel, claim a shady spot, and soak it all in. You’ll find food stalls just off the beach serving hot, fresh chicken and chips, cold drinks, and other simple snacks — perfect for keeping you going between swims.

Soak in the Hot Springs and Visit Concord Falls
For something a little different, take a short drive inland to the River Sallee hot springs. These natural, mineral-rich pools bubble up from underground, and locals swear by their soothing, healing properties. It’s a uniquely Grenadian experience and a relaxing way to spend an hour or two.
Continue on to Concord Falls, further south down the west coast. Surrounded by lush greenery, the falls cascade into a cool pool where you can take a refreshing dip or just sit and enjoy the sound of the water. Don’t forget your camera — it’s as picturesque as it gets.

Sample Grenada’s Famous Rum at River Antoine Distillery
No trip to northern Grenada would be complete without a visit to River Antoine Rum Distillery. This historic distillery still produces rum the traditional way, using water wheels and wooden vats. The tour is short but fascinating, and it ends with a tasting of their famously strong rum — a true taste of island history.
We can arrange your visit for you and Leon our tours and taxi driver can take you there.
Eat Like a Local in Grenville
Hungry after all that exploring? Stop by Grenville, one of the island’s busiest market towns, for some of the best roti you’ll find anywhere. Small, family-run shops serve up warm, flavourful rotis filled with chicken, beef, or vegetables — hearty and delicious. (If you don’t want to go to Grenville, we have them in the restaurant here at Petite Anse too.)

Discover Grenada’s Cocoa Heritage at Belmont Estate
Take a leisurely afternoon at Belmont Estate, a working cocoa plantation with a rich history. Here you can watch traditional cocoa processing, wander the gardens, and learn about Grenada’s chocolate-making heritage. Don’t leave without sampling some of their artisan chocolate — and maybe taking some home too.

Stay at Petite Anse Hotel — Your Perfect Base
Petite Anse Hotel, tucked away near Sauteurs, is the ideal base for your March holiday in Grenada. With sweeping sea views, charming rooms, and a warm, welcoming team, it’s perfectly placed for day trips around the island or simply unwinding and enjoying the scenery. Our staff are always happy to help you arrange boat trips to Sandy Island or Green Island, or point you towards other hidden gems in the area.
If you’d like to venture a little farther, St George’s — Grenada’s colourful capital — is just an hour’s scenic drive away. You can shop at the spice markets, stroll the harbour, or relax on Grand Anse or Morne Rouge beach before returning to the peace and quiet of the north.
