This weekend brings much excitement for bartenders and mixologists all over the ‘Spice Island’ of Grenada. On Saturday 18th June, the Rex Grenadian Hotel is hosting the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge.
Our bartender, Devon is all set to enter with his two cocktail mixes. The rules dictate that each bartender must enter the competition with two cocktails that contain several drops of Angostura Bitters. The first cocktail is to be “freestyle” and the second beverage must be a rum based cocktail. The cocktails will be judged on how they are presented and how they taste.
The winner of the Grenadian heat will be invited to compete in Trinidad for the semi-finals and then onto Jamaica for the regional finals. Here is a link to the cocktail challenge page for those who are interested in reading more about the Angostura Cocktail Challenge competition. www.angosturabitters.com/events.htm
The competitors are given just 7 minutes to mix up two drinks including any garnishing and preparation that might need to be prepared.
Devon looks set to perform well with his entry “Grenadian Pride” – see the pic.
We wish him all the best and hope that he takes Petite Anse forward to the next stage of the challenge. And we’ll keep you informed on the results.
Go Devon – show them what you and Petite Anse are made of!
