Your Petite Anse Prep Guide (with all the answers you didn’t know you needed)
So… you’re thinking of coming to Grenada.
You’ve seen the sea. You’ve checked the photos. You’ve Googled “Grenada on a map” just to make sure it really is where you think it is (don’t worry — everyone does it). And now you’re staring at a hotel called Petite Anse, wondering if it’s the kind of place that feels right.
Well, let’s get that settled.
Here’s a round-up of everything our first-time guests tend to ask — and a few things they should ask, but don’t always think of. We’ve got you.

Where is Petite Anse exactly?
Petite Anse Hotel is in northern Grenada, tucked away in a quiet part of the island in the Parish of St. Patrick’s. We’re about 90 minutes from the airport, depending on the goats and photo stops.
It’s peaceful, lush, and far from the buzz of the south. Think stunning views of the Grenadines, noisy Atlantic waves, birdsong, and the kind of quiet that helps you sleep like a baby and breathe like someone who’s just remembered how.
You won’t find big resorts or duty-free malls up here. You will find space, sea air, and a warm welcome from our Grenadian team — and that’s kind of the point.

What’s nearby?
Ah, good question. While we’re off the beaten path, we’re not exactly in the middle of nowhere (though it can feel delightfully like it).
Within a short drive or tour, you can reach:
- Levera Beach – for watching Leatherback turtles nest (seasonal)
- Bathway Beach – for swimming, walking, or just pretending you’re in a movie
- Belmont Estate – a cocoa farm and heritage site with incredible chocolate and gardens
- River Antoine Rum Distillery – the oldest water-powered distillery in the Caribbean (and possibly the strongest rum you’ll ever taste)
- Sandy Island – a dreamy boat trip away, complete with fish BBQ and pelicans
We also arrange day tours, market visits, hot water springs, bird watching, and have our own resident hiking guide. And of course, there’s our own beach just steps away — perfect for sunrise or stargazing.

What’s the weather like?
We get this one a lot: “When’s the best time to come to Grenada?”
Short answer: Anytime.
Grenada is blessed with a warm tropical climate year-round. Here’s what to expect:
- Dry season (January–May): Blue skies, cooler nights, perfect for beach days and hikes.
- Green season (June–December): A little more rain, a lot more lushness. The rain usually comes in short bursts, not all-day downpours.
Average temperatures sit around 28°C (82°F). You’ll want your sunscreen, a hat, and maybe a light jumper for the evenings if you’re the breezy type.

How’s the Wi-Fi?
It’s solid! We’ve upgraded our connection to serve remote workers, social scrollers, and those “just checking my emails for a second” types.
You can stream Netflix, take Zoom calls, or post that dreamy sunrise shot with no problem. That said, many guests end up using their phones less and their eyes more. Something about the view makes screens feel a bit… boring.

Can I drink the water?
Yes! The tap water in Grenada is safe to drink. We even refill water bottles at the bar or kitchen if you’d prefer to cut down on plastic.
We also put water bottles in your cottage fridge, along with a few other thoughtful touches (like milk for tea and sometimes a fresh flower or two — we’re sentimental like that).
Can I use my card?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and cash in Eastern Caribbean or US dollars. Some places on the island are cash-only, especially roadside stalls or small vendors, so it’s handy to carry a bit of cash with you when exploring.

What should I pack?
Besides the usual swimsuit-sarong-sunscreen combo:
- A light rain jacket or poncho (just in case)
- Good walking sandals or trainers if you plan to explore
- A spare memory card – trust us, you’ll take more photos than you think
- A book or two for your hammock time
- And if you’re into wildlife: binoculars for spotting tropical birds
We’re casual here — no need for heels or blazers. Flip-flops and a smile will do.

What should I have asked?
Now we’re talking. Here are a few questions we wish more guests asked:
- “Can I do absolutely nothing for a few days?”
Yes, and we encourage it. We call it hammock therapy. - “Will there be local food on the menu?”
Absolutely — from pepper chicken and cocoa tea to roti and our fan-favourite banana bread. - “Is it OK to chat with the staff?”
Please do! Our team loves to share stories, recommendations, and laughs. You’ll leave knowing everyone by name. - “What’s the vibe at the hotel?”
Peaceful, personal, and proudly Grenadian. No stiff formalities, just warm hospitality. If you like barefoot breakfasts, ocean breezes, and genuine people, you’ll fit right in.
